Well written for the person who is looking for employment, especially if you have been employed for some time and have recently been downsized or your company have gone out of business. This may seem a simple thing for someone who is employed, however things have changed in the past 5 years.RC
This is the best tool I have ever used to look right inside myself and others and help themselves as well. If you want to follow your true path in life, work, play. This is my 4th copy of this workbook. I endeavour to get the latest edition so I can see changes I can make personally to be better at what I do. Then get this book and take the time to delve into the depths of your being and get to know the real you and the real path to follow. I cannot rate this book highly enough to do it justice.
Richard Bolles is amazing. since 1970,when the original book came out, he has consistently updated and improved on the best, and most practical career planning guide I have ever used. It doesn't get any better than this.
This book (and accompanying workbook) has been a great help to me in trying to secure another job after being recently downsized. It arrived in good condition from the provider, has some wonderful tools in the book to help with job seekers, etc. It includes some self-help features, and ways to help decide what career you prefer over job 'getting a job'.
The guide is large enough to write on, and lays flat which makes it easier to use than the same tables and graphs in What Color is Your Parachute. This is the revised and updated version, I have purchased and used the first edition as well. And I like that the working with animals is now under the category of people. The updated version is much more user friendly. I particularly like the focus on where one wishes to work in terms of geography, and in terms of the kinds of people one would like for colleagues. All in all, the exercises have led to many insights about my strengths, and likes and dislikes. I have a much better picture of where my flower and I will bloom.
